Right People for the Job

Coordinating a project of this size is always so much easier when you just find the right people for the job, mostly leave them alone, and provide whatever help they ask for. Finding captains for the various portions of the event is going quite well and I'm happy we'll have so many enthusiastic, professional and creative people on board for the project.

We'll have our first meeting for department captains at TMT so we can look at the space, take measurements, and rough out the placement of various sculptural items.

One Night in Tikal- The Concept

We've embarked on a huge project- turning the main hall at Camp Ocala into the ruins of Tikal for Trimaris MayanMass Moot. This decorated hall will be used as the setting for a remarkable new world feast and then as the location for a Kingdom party entitled 'The End'.

Keeping with the new world theme of the event, our goal is to transform the feast hall into the ruins of Tikal as they would have appeared in the 15th century... amid a creeping night-time jungle. Our King and Queen, Prince and Princess and noble feast guests will go on a tour to visit these ruins and have their meal and merriment there. The sounds of jungle birds, the flash of bio luminescent insects, the sheen of a butterfly wing, thick tangles of vines, and the aroma of a jungle will surround our guests.

To make this happen all sorts of artisans will be needed, especially those with skills in theatrical set building, museum exhibit preparation, sculpture, paper mache', and lighting. Any skill set applicable to theatrical design and museum prep can be utilized, regardless of level of mastery of the crafts.

If you want to help, just let us know!
